To turnish the image of Bangladesh Army, vested quarters are spreading false and misleading information against the force in various foreign media and on social media platforms, both domestically and internationally, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement on Sunday, the ISPR said, “Amidst the deteriorating security situation nationwide, the army has been deployed in their respective areas of responsibility from the early hours of July 20 to ensure the overall security of public lives and important government establishments."

“The presence of the army, along with other forces, has helped to swiftly quell the disorder,” it added.

The statement said the Bangladesh Army is operating under the existing laws to maintain law and order, ensure the safety of public lives and property, and restore peace in cooperation with the civil administration, while upholding the constitution of the country.

The Bangladesh Army urged the public not to be misled by such confusing information propagated by vested interests.

The army reaffirmed its commitment to always stand by the people and serve the nation's interests whenever needed.
