A fire that erupted at the Tejgaon truck stand in Dhaka on Sunday (12 January) morning has been brought under control.
The fire service managed to contain the blaze after approximately half an hour of effort.
According to fire service sources, at least six trucks were destroyed in the fire.
The blaze ignited around 8am in a garage near the Tejgaon truck stand. Fire service officials reported that within five minutes of receiving the alert, two units were dispatched to the scene, followed by a third unit. The fire was brought under control shortly after 8:30am.
Talha Bin Jasim, an official from the fire service's public relations department, said that the fire originated in a garage, which also serves as a shop. Six trucks parked there were destroyed by the flames, but the situation is now under control.
