The sky over the capital is expected to remain partly cloudy today, with a slight rise in daytime temperatures, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

A six-hour weather forecast issued on Wednesday morning for Dhaka and its surrounding areas predicted dry conditions and light winds blowing from the south to south-east at 10 to 15 kilometres per hour.

The update, signed by meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque, stated that no warnings or special signals are in effect for inland river ports across the country between 5am and 1pm.

The forecast further noted that Dhaka’s weather is likely to remain predominantly dry, with intermittent cloud cover. Winds from the west to south-west are also expected to flow at similar speeds during this period.

At 6am, the temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 24.2 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels at 89 per cent. Yesterday’s maximum temperature reached 32.3 degrees Celsius.

Elsewhere in the country, the BMD has warned of the possibility of temporary gusty winds and thunderstorms in parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.

Isolated areas in Dhaka, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may also experience similar conditions, with chances of scattered hailstorms in some regions.
