Dengue fever claimed three more lives in the last 24 hours, with 705 new patients admitted to hospitals nationwide, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
This brings the total number of dengue fatalities in Bangladesh this year to 497.
Of the newly hospitalized patients, 154 were from Dhaka North City and 90 from Dhaka South City. Currently, 2,779 dengue patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.
Since January 1, 2024, Bangladesh has recorded a total of 93,056 dengue cases.
Last year, the country experienced its worst-ever dengue outbreak, with a record-breaking 321,179 cases and 1,705 deaths reported.
