BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged vigilance to prevent the return of fascist elements in the upcoming elections.
Speaking on Sunday (3 November), he made these remarks at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital, Dhaka, while paying respects at the mausoleum of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.
The occasion marked Dr Shahadat Hossain’s assumption of duties as Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation.
Mirza Fakhrul emphasised that the way students and citizens have brought down the fascist government in the past must never be disregarded.
“Our country is facing various conspiracies,” he said. “We must stand united to combat these schemes.”
The BNP delegation at the event included Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Vice-Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu, Joint Secretary General Mahmud Nabi Sohel, and BNP leaders from Chattogram's metropolitan and divisional branches.
