The outline of the interim national government will be proposed within the next 24 hours, said Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement.

"We will propose that interim national government by discussing with everyone and ensuring the representation of all," he said.

Nahid made these comments in a statement on Monday night.

Besides, they will not support any form of government other than student-citizen supported government, he added.

He said, "We declare those who were martyred in this movement as national heroes."

"We want to see those who are detained in jail on the streets with us in the next 24 hours. We call upon the freedom-seeking students to stay on the streets until the national government is framed."

Nahid said that their one-point demand was the fall of the dictator Sheikh Hasina and the abolition of the fascist system.

"We believe that simply moving the person does not solve the problem. Rather, we have to make a new Bangladesh, a new political settlement by abolishing the state structure through which such fascism is created."

Sheikh Hasina resigned as the prime minister and left the country earlier on Monday amid violence centring nationwide anti-government protests.
