Amid the nationwide unrest, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has intensified security measures to curb illegal border crossings.
The development was confirmed by BGB Public Relations Officer Shariful Islam, in a statement issued on Tuesday afternoon, (6 August).
The country's instability arose from the quota reform movement, which led to widespread unrest.
Subsequently, amidst the demands of the anti-discrimination student movement, Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country.
Following these significant events, the BGB released their statement.
