Home Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has urged members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to never retreat and to carry out their duties with full dedication.

He made these remarks to senior BGB officials at the BGB headquarters in Pilkhana, Dhaka, on Saturday.

"We do not want to witness any incidents like the Felani murder at the border again. Do not show your back; instead, focus on your assigned duties," he stressed.

He also said ensuring border security and preventing smuggling are BGB's primary responsibilities.

The home adviser also called on BGB personnel to maintain professionalism in all aspects of their work.

He issued a stern warning against corruption, saying, "The government will not tolerate any form of corruption. Stern action will be taken against bribery and corruption," adding that corrupt officials will face dismissal.

The Director General of BGB, Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, was also present at the event.
