Despite the heavy presence of police, including riot vehicles and prison vans, on Mirpur Road, law enforcement officers remained silent as the protesters chanted in front of them.
The protestors gathered in the Shahbagh intersection and held a rally.
Later the protesters entered Dhaka University campus and took position near the Shaheed minar.

The protests have been organised by the platform of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, which has previously been active in the quota reform movement.
9-point demand includes the resignation of some ministers – home minister, road transport and bridges minister, education minister, state minister for ICT and law minister – as taking accountability for all those killed by state forces in the protests.

Pretesting students have also demanded to ban student politics.
The 9-point demands also include the immediate reopening of all educational institutions and dormitories.
The curfew should be lifted, and the police, Rab, BGB, SWAT, and army deployed on campuses nationwide should be withdrawn, it adds.
