In remembrance of those injured and killed during the anti-quota movement, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement will hold a nationwide "Martyrs March" on Thursday (5 September).
"Martyr March will be held across the country on Thursday in memory of the victims of the anti-quota movement. The central event will commence at 3pm from the Raju Memorial Sculpture," announced coordinator Sarjis Alam, at a press conference held at Dhaka University's TSC on Wednesday (4 September).
Sarjis further detailed that the march will begin at the Raju Memorial Sculpture, proceed through New Market, Manik Miah Avenue, Karwan Bazar, and Shahbagh, and will culminate at the Central Shaheed Minar.
Another coordinator, Abu Bakar Majumdar, emphasised during the press conference that the student movement would work for national security, but urged against taking the law into one's own hands.
He stressed the importance of ensuring justice through law enforcement agencies.
Majumdar added that there would be no leniency for those involved in the killings.
A team is being formed to identify the perpetrators. He also mentioned that the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement would be reorganised nationwide, with the aim of combating extortion and corruption in the future of Bangladesh as per the people's will.
