Thousands of students gathered at the Raju Sculpture in Dhaka’s TSC area to observe the "Shahidi March" - marking the one-month anniversary of the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government and honouring those martyred during the recent protests.

People had already begun assembling at the site since afternoon on Thursday (5 September).

The gathering grew as they chanted various slogans in remembrance of the martyrs, such as: “In memory of the martyrs, we fear no death,” “Our martyrs, our strength,” “Abu Sayed-Mugdha, the fight isn't over,” “In the flag of red and green, the martyrs are seen,” “The students have awakened,” “The blood boils with fire,” and “Where has Chhatra League gone?”

The march began at 3pm and will move through Nilkhet, New Market, Kalabagan, Mirpur Road, and Manik Mia Avenue, passing by the Parliament Building, Farmgate, Karwan Bazar, Shahbagh, and the Raju Sculpture, before concluding at the Central Shaheed Minar.
