A Dhaka court yesterday (8 May) placed Sohel Siraj, owner of the Bailey road's "Kacchi Bhai" restaurant, on a two-day police remand in connection with a case filed over the fatal fire incident on February 29.

Immigration police arrested Sohel Siraj as he reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) from Malaysia on Tuesday night.

On March 1, Mohammad Shahidul Islam, sub-inspector of Ramna Model Police Station, filed the case against Amin Mohammad Group and three others, bringing allegations of causing death by negligence and attempt to murder.

The fatal fire at the Green Cozy Cottage shopping mall on Bailey Road on February 29 claimed 46 lives, including 8 children and 18 women.
