Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has urged all tea shoppers in the capital to close their tea stalls after 11 pm.

DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman asked the policemen to implement the decision quickly.

The DMP chief came up with the instruction while speaking at the monthly crime review meeting at the Rajarbagh Police Auditorium yesterday (28 April) afternoon.

Habibur Rahman said tea shops remain open till late night in different parts of the capital and in some cases; the soaps also remain open the whole night. 

“Many criminals gather at such tea stalls and they wait for any opportunity to commit crimes,” he said, adding, “Such a situation, tea stalls should be closed at night to prevent crimes.”

The DMP boss further directed to strengthen community policing and beat policing systems.
