37 senior officers transferred in major DMP shake-up

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has transferred 37 high-ranking officials, including Joint Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, and Assistant Commissioners

In a significant reshuffle, 37 senior officers of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have been transferred, including officials holding the ranks of Joint Police Commissioner, Deputy Police Commissioner, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner, and Assistant Police Commissioner.

The transfers were executed through four separate orders, signed by DMP Commissioner Md. Mainul Hasan, on Monday, 8 September, according to a press release from the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division on Tuesday (10 September).

The four Joint Police Commissioners transferred include Khondoker Faridul Islam, who was moved from Traffic-South to the Public Order Management (POM) division; Hamida Parveen, who was reassigned from the Protection and Diplomatic Security Division to DMP Headquarters; Mohammad Kamruzzaman, transferred to Traffic-South; and Mohammad Shahidullah, reassigned to the Protection and Diplomatic Security Division.

As for the Deputy Commissioners (DCs), twelve officers have been transferred. These include Mohammad Mahbub Hasan from the Intelligence and Analysis Division, now posted to DMP Headquarters, and Mostaq Ahmed, formerly of the Traffic-Tejgaon Division, also reassigned to DMP Headquarters. Additionally, Md. Zafar Hossain from the Planning, Research, and Human Resource Division, and Abdul Momen from the Traffic-Gulshan Division, were both transferred to DMP Headquarters.

Other notable transfers include AFM Tarique Hossain Khan, who has been moved to the Mirpur and Tejgaon Traffic Divisions; Muhammad Talebur Rahman, now at the DMP Media and Public Relations Division; and Salma Syeda Polly, reassigned to the Traffic Lalbagh and Wari Divisions. Furthermore, Md. Faruk Hossain, from the DMP Media and Public Relations Division, and Dewan Jalal Uddin Chowdhury, from the Intelligence and Analysis Division, have been assigned to DMP Headquarters. Mohammad Masud Rana has been transferred to the Planning, Research, and Human Resource Division, while Md. Tareq Mahmud and Suman Deb have been posted to the Traffic-Gulshan and Traffic-Uttara Divisions, respectively.

Among the Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs), eleven officers were transferred. Notable names include Mohammad Rakib Khan, who has been reassigned to the Traffic-Mirpur and Tejgaon Divisions, and Md. Montasir Rahman, who has been posted to DMP Headquarters. Others, such as Md. Shariful Alam, Mohammad Fakhruzzaman Jewel, and Rafiuddin Ahmed Zobayer, have also been transferred to DMP Headquarters.

Additional transfers include Md. Akramul Hasan, now assigned to Crime-2 Division, and Mohammad Aftab Uddin, who has been posted to the Operations-2 Division. S.M. Al-Beruni has been transferred to the Procurement and Maintenance Division, while Main Uddin Chowdhury was posted to Prosecution-1 Division, Mohiuddin Ahmed to the Transport Division, and Md. Sharifur Rahman to DMP Headquarters.

In the Assistant Police Commissioner (AC) category, ten officers have been transferred. These include Md. Fayez Iqbal, who has been reassigned to Khilgaon Zone, and Tanvir Hasan, now in Traffic-Ramna Zone. Others, such as Nob Kumar Bishwas and Sakib Hossain, have been posted to DMP Headquarters. Md. Masud Rana has been transferred to Traffic-Dhanmondi Zone, while Md. Akhtaruzzaman has been reassigned to Traffic-Jatrabari Zone. Further transfers include Md. Masud Rana to Mohammadpur Zone, Shanta Yasmin to the Professional Standard and Internal Investigation Division, Tanzil Ahmed to DMP Headquarters, and Md. Aslam Sagar to Traffic-Mohammadpur Zone.
