There is no chance of any terrorist attack centred around the Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid prayers, said the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

“Analysing intelligence information and cyber monitoring and other information, no specific information was found regarding any terrorist attack on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr this year,” RAB Director General (DG) Additional IGP M Khurshid Hossain said after visiting the National Eidgah on Tuesday (9 April).

“However, our intelligence surveillance and activity will continue for the duration. An adequate number of RAB members have been deployed in each area to ensure security,” he added.

He said that various initiatives have been taken to ensure the safe journey of the holidaymakers.

Operations have been conducted to prevent the ticket black marketing, the RAB chief said.

Action will be taken if there is any complaint of excess fare collection including checking the license of the bus drivers and fitness of the vehicle.
