Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has urged citizens not to take the law into their own hands, emphasising the importance of allowing law enforcement agencies to perform their duties.

"I appeal to the people of this country—do not take the law into your own hands. At the same time, I call upon the police to be more proactive," he stated.

He made these remarks on Wednesday (26 February) while speaking to journalists after inaugurating a farmer’s mini cold storage and a livestock app in Savar.

The adviser further noted that efforts are underway to increase the number of police personnel to strengthen law and order.

Additionally, he mentioned that the government plans to expand the workforce of other security forces to ensure greater stability.
