An 11-year-old girl, Arabi Islam Suba, who went missing from Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area, has been rescued from Naogaon.
Police found Suba on Tuesday and detained a youth who had accompanied her to Naogaon. Suba’s parents are currently on their way to reunite with her. Law enforcement officials confirmed that the girl will be handed over to her family.
In a video statement, Suba reassured her family, saying, “I am doing fine. I want to return to my family.”
Suba, a sixth-grade student from Barishal, had been living in Dhaka for the past two months to support her mother’s lung cancer treatment.
According to the police, CCTV footage showed Suba walking hand-in-hand with a man believed to be in his early twenties.
