Bodies of 3 missing children recovered from Brahmaputra River; another still missing

The bodies of three children, who went missing while taking bath in the Brahmaputra river on Wednesday in Nageshwari upazila of Kurigram district, were retrieved from the river on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Atik Hasan, son of Ahad Ali, Jewel, son of Alam Mia and Nazmul Islam, son of Nazrul Islam. All of them aged between 7-10 years.

Ankhi,daughter of Ahad Ali, remained missing till the filling of this report.

The divers from local firefighting units recovered the bodies of the three children from the river at Jatrapur in Sadar upazila, 2-3 km of the spot where they drowned, said Biswajit Roy, officer-in-charge of Kachakata Police Station.

Earlier, on Wednesday, four children went missing when they were taking bath in the Brahmaputra River in the afternoon.
