Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a storm warning for 18 districts, predicting winds of up to 60 km/h and advising local river ports to hoist signal number 1.

A storm accompanied by gusts of wind reaching up to 60 km/h is likely to affect 18 districts across the country. These areas may also experience rain or thunderstorms.

According to the weather forecast issued for river ports, this advisory is valid until 9:00am on Sunday (6 October).

The districts likely to be impacted include Rangpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia, Jashore, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, and Sylhet. Winds from the south or southwest are expected to blow at speeds ranging from 45-60km/h, accompanied by temporary rain or thunderstorms.

River ports in these regions have been instructed to hoist signal number 1.
