HSC exams to begin on 26 June

The Inter-Education Board Examination Controller Committee has announced the HSC examination schedule, with theoretical tests beginning on 26 June and practical assessments concluding on 21 August

The Inter-Education Board Examination Controller Committee has officially published the schedule for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations.

According to the timetable, theoretical examinations are set to commence on 26 June and will conclude on 10 August, while practical tests will take place from 11 to 21 August.

The schedule was released on Wednesday (19 February), bearing the signature of SM Kamal Uddin Haider, the Examination Controller of the Dhaka Education Board and Chairman of the Inter-Education Board Examination Controller Committee.

Candidates must take their seats at least 30 minutes before the examination begins. The multiple-choice questions (MCQ) will be administered first, followed by the creative/descriptive (theoretical) section.

The MCQ section, carrying 30 marks, will be allotted 30 minutes, while the 70-mark creative section will span 2 hours and 30 minutes.

For subjects incorporating practical elements, the 25-mark MCQ section will last 25 minutes, and the 50-mark creative section will extend over 2 hours and 35 minutes.

Examinations will proceed without any breaks between the MCQ and creative sections, adhering strictly to the duration mentioned in the question papers.
Distribution of Answer Sheets and Question Papers:

  • For morning sessions (starting at 10am), blank answer sheets and OMR sheets will be distributed at 9:30am, MCQ question papers at 10am, and the creative section will follow at 10:30am (or 10:25am for 25-mark MCQs).
  • For afternoon sessions (starting at 2pm), blank answer sheets and OMR sheets will be distributed at 1:30pm, MCQ question papers at 2pm, and the creative section at 2:30pm (or 2:25pm for 25-mark MCQs).

Candidates must strictly adhere to the allotted time as specified in the question papers.

Admit cards must be collected from respective institutions before the examination.

Each candidate must correctly fill in their roll number, registration number, and subject code on the OMR sheet. Writing within the margins or folding the answer script is strictly prohibited.

Separate passing marks are required for the theoretical, MCQ, and practical sections where applicable.

Candidates may only sit for the subjects specified in their registration and admit cards—participation in any other subject is not permitted.

The use of standard scientific calculators is allowed, but programming calculators are strictly prohibited.

With this announcement, students are now set to prepare for the upcoming HSC examinations under the structured guidelines issued by the authorities.
