The 2025 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations are expected to commence in mid-April, while the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations are planned for the last week of June.
This scheduling, officials indicate, depends on the stability of current conditions.
On Sunday (27 October), officials from the Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education confirmed the government’s proposed schedule, which aims to conduct the SSC examinations after Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The exams will be held under the full syllabus for SSC and a revised syllabus, developed in 2023, for HSC.
Professor Abul Bashar, controller of examinations at the Dhaka Board, stated, “Ramadan will take place in March this year, with Eid-ul-Fitr likely on 31 March or 1 April. Therefore, the SSC and equivalent examinations are planned for after the Ramadan and Eid holidays.”
He further explained that the HSC and equivalent exams have been scheduled to commence following Eid-ul-Adha, which falls on 7 June.
Consequently, preparations are underway for HSC examinations to begin in the latter part of June.
