A group of students staged a protest inside the secretariat, demanding that all students be declared as having passed, rejecting the recently published HSC examination results.
The students entered the secretariat by overcoming police resistance and began chanting slogans in front of the premises at around 2:50pm on Wednesday (23 October).
The protesters voiced their grievances through slogans.
Members of the Bangladesh Army and various law enforcement agencies stationed at the secretariat called for the demonstrators to cease their slogans and engage in peaceful dialogue.
The protesting students stated: "We demand results based on equality. The board has unfairly awarded good results to some while giving poor results to others, despite our good performances. We urge the authorities to annul these results immediately and reevaluate those who have been wronged."
