Advisory Council takes three decisions on quota implementation

The interim government’s Advisory Council has made three key decisions regarding the implementation of the 5% reserved quota for the children of freedom fighters, martyrs, and war heroines in government and private medical and dental colleges for the 2024-25 academic year.

The meeting, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, was held on Thursday at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Tejgaon.

During the meeting, three key decisions were made. First, the Ministry of Health Education and Family Welfare, the Ministry of Law and Justice, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs were instructed to take necessary actions to implement the quota system based on the discussions.

Second, the Ministry of Public Administration will prepare a detailed summary, including opinions and recommendations on the current application of the quota system in government job recruitment, which will be presented at a future Advisory Council meeting.

Lastly, the Secondary and Higher Education Division will submit a comprehensive summary, providing recommendations and opinions on the implementation of the quota system in educational institution admissions, considering the present context, for review by the Advisory Council.
