Bangladesh Army today organized a reception in honor of the families of those became martyred and injured in July uprising at the 'Army Multipurpose Complex' in Dhaka Cantonment today.
Members of a total of 72 families of the injured and martyred were present at the event, said an ISPR press release.
Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman addressed the reception ceremony, the release added.
Referring to the July uprising as a landmark event in the history of Bangladesh, he said those participated in the uprising are the pride of the nation.
He said the young generation not only participated in the movement but also demonstrated how to pursue rightful demands with truth and justice.
He said that the Bangladesh Army has always stood by the side of the July uprising fighters to fulfill their dreams.
He pledged that Bangladesh Army will always stand by the side of the motherland in the future as in the past keeping in mind the motto—‘We are in war, we are in peace, we are everywhere, we are on the side of the country’.
The Army Chief expressed hope that if everyone works together with patriotism, nationalism, honesty, humanity and discipline, the country will rise to the peak of prosperity and emerge as a happy and prosperous country.
He requested everyone to work together to fulfill that dream.
At the reception, the Bangladesh Army provided financial assistance to each family of the injured and martyrs of the July uprising.
