Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Tuesday said the situation in the country is improving as the Bangladesh Army is sincerely performing its assigned duties to improve the law-and-order situation.

He instructed all the army personnel to extend support to the civilian administration and the people of the country with patience and professionalism considering the overall situation of the country, said an ISPR media release.

The Army Chief came up with the remarks when he attended a 'Darbar' arranged for all ranks of soldiers serving in 7th Infantry Division and Barishal area and during 'Officer's Address' for Army officers on Tuesday.

Earlier, he visited the 7th Infantry Division and Barishal area.

In his speech, the Army Chief hoped that every army personnel will perform duties with great devotion using the magisterial power wisely given by the state to maintain peace and the public order in the country as a symbol of public trust.

He also asked all to stay ready to face the tough challenges of the 21st century through modern and up-to-date training.

Meanwhile, the Army Chief inspected and monitored the progress of various ongoing projects in the 7th Infantry Division taken for the infrastructural development of the newly constructed cantonment.

Apart from senior military officers from the headquarters and Barishal area, junior commissioned officers, soldiers of other ranks, civil officers and employees were present during the visit.
