The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has projected a marginal increase in temperature in Dhaka and its adjacent regions, leading to a heightened sense of warmth in the atmosphere.
According to the department’s six-hour weather forecast, issued on Sunday (9 March), the sky over these areas may remain temporarily partly cloudy, while the weather is expected to stay dry.
As a result, daytime temperatures could see a slight rise. Winds from the west or northwest may blow at a speed of 8 to 12 kilometres per hour.
At 6:00 am on Sunday, the recorded temperature in Dhaka and nearby areas stood at 23.2 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels at 85 per cent.
Meanwhile, the nationwide forecast, issued on Saturday night for Sunday, suggested that the weather across the country is likely to remain dry with partly cloudy skies.
However, isolated light or drizzling rain may occur in one or two places within the Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions.
Additionally, temperatures across the country—both during the day and at night—could rise by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, potentially intensifying the overall feeling of heat.
