Dhaka woke up to a heavy layer of mist that settled over the city, with visibility greatly reduced. By 8:00 AM, the sun had not yet made its presence felt, leaving the capital in a state of thick fog.

Since the early hours of Tuesday (11 February), the entire city has been shrouded in fog, forcing vehicles to switch on their headlights for safer travel. The dense mist has become a common sight across the city, signalling a shift in the weather.

In recent days, temperatures have risen across most of the country, with the exception of the Rangpur division. This increase in temperature has notably diminished the winter chill, including in Dhaka, where the mercury has climbed higher than in previous days.

On 10 February, the lowest temperature recorded across the country was 10.7°C in Tetulia, while Dhaka itself saw a relatively warmer 15°C.

The meteorological office has forecasted that the weather will remain dry with sporadic cloudy patches across the country.

Light rain showers may occur in a few areas of the Rangpur and Sylhet divisions, while fog will continue across the nation from late night into the early morning hours.

Temperatures are expected to rise slightly during the day, with nighttime temperatures increasing by 1 to 2°C.
