Advance train ticket sales for Eid-ul-Fitr to begin on 14 March

Tickets for 24 March travel will be available on 14 March, while tickets for the following days will be sold as per the schedule below: 15 March for 25 March, 16 March for 26 March, 17 March for 27 March, 18 March for 28 March, 19 March for 29 March, and 20 March for 30 March

The Ministry of Railways has announced that advance train ticket sales for Eid-ul-Fitr will begin on 14 wMarch. 

At a meeting held at Dhaka’s Bidyut Bhaban on Sunday (9 March), Faujul Kabir Khan, advisor to the Ministry of Railways, confirmed the schedule for ticket sales. This year, 100% of the tickets will be available online.

Tickets for 24 March travel will be available on 14 March, while tickets for the following days will be sold as per the schedule below: 15 March for 25 March, 16 March for 26 March, 17 March for 27 March, 18 March for 28 March, 19 March for 29 March, and 20 March for 30 March.

To accommodate the surge in Eid travelers, five special trains will operate on different routes, including Chandpur Eid Special on the Chattogram-Chandpur route, Dewanganj Eid Special on the Dhaka-Dewanganj route, Sholakia Eid Special on the Bhairab Bazar-Kishoreganj and Mymensingh-Kishoreganj routes, and Parbatipur Eid Special on the Joydebpur-Parbatipur route.

Additionally, 44 extra coaches will be added to regular train services to accommodate more passengers.

Each passenger can buy a maximum of four tickets per transaction for both departure and return journeys, with up to 25% of total seats available as standing tickets.

Tickets for 31 March, 1 April, and 2 April will be sold based on the sighting of the Eid moon. Return journey ticket sales will begin on 3 March, following this schedule: 28 March for 3 April, 25 March for 4 April, 26 March for 5 April, 27 March for 6 April, 28 March for 18 April, 29 March for 8 April, and 30 March for 9 April.

Furthermore, from 27 March until Eid day, all intercity trains will operate without their weekly off-day. 

This initiative aims to ensure smooth and hassle-free Eid travel for passengers across Bangladesh.
