A tragic incident occurred on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in the Police Town area of Savar when two passenger buses and an ambulance collided, leading to a fire that claimed the lives of all four occupants of the ambulance.
The accident happened in the early hours of Thursday (9 January), said the fire service.
Fire service personnel battled the blaze for an hour and a half, eventually bringing it under control by around 3:15am.
Two units of the fire service were deployed to manage the situation.
According to the authorities, fire erupted after a bus struck an ambulance from behind, causing it to catch fire.
Subsequently, the flames spread to the bus it collided with another bus of the Shyamoli Paribahan parked nearby.
All four individuals inside the ambulance perished in the inferno.
