Readymade garments factories in Savar, which were closed for indefinite period following ongoing worker unrest, are set to resume production on Saturday.
The decision of opening factories was taken at a meeting at a Ha-Meem Group factory in Ashulia on Friday evening.
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), representatives, and local political leaders attended the meeting.
BGMEA Senior Vice President Abdullah Hill Rakib confirmed the decision to the media.
He, however, said individual factories may choose to open later as per their own security evaluation. .
