At least 5 people have been killed and 25 others injured in a collision between a bus and a truck in Kashiani, Gopalganj.
The incident occurred on the Dhaka-Khulna highway at Majhigati in Kashiani upazila at around 7:45am on Sunday (1 September), Bhanga Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector Abdullah Hel Baki said.
"A collision took place when a Dhaka-bound bus from Imad Paribahan, coming from Khulna, collided head-on with a truck approaching from the opposite direction. As a result, 5 bus passengers died on the spot, and 25 others were injured," he added.
The injured have been taken to Muksedpur and Kashiani Upazila hospitals for treatment, police said.
