Nahid Islam, one of the key coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said they are not considering forming a political party at this time.

“Students and the public will now work as a social-political force to preserve the spirit of the mass uprising, and the government will work towards fulfilling the people’s desire for state reform,” said Nahid, who has been tasked with overseeing the ministries of Post and Telecommunications, as well as Information and Broadcasting, on his Facebook handle on Friday night.

He said, “At this moment, it is essential to stand by the families of those injured and martyred in the uprising, to preserve the spirit of rebuilding and reforming the nation, as well as the spirit of the uprising and national unity. The student community and the interim government will work towards that goal."

Nahid also mentioned that abolishing the fascist system and establishing a new political framework was part of their one-point agenda. “This requires extensive work and political activities,” he added.

He further stated, “We aim to draft a blueprint for the future of Bangladesh through discussions and dialogue with the people.”
