The BNP’s associate bodies –Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal and Swecchasebak Dal– on Monday (12 August) staged demonstration in the capital and elsewhere demanding the resignation of the Interim Government’s Home Affairs Adviser Brigadier General (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain.

The leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal brought out a demonstration procession from the area of BNP’s Nayapaltan Central Office and chanted slogans demanding his resignation.

The demonstration was staged following the Home Affairs Adviser's remarks asking the Awami League to reorganise itself, while visiting the injured police and Ansar members at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the city.

The procession ended in front of BNP Central Office after parading Kakrail Intersection and Polwel Market.

Chhatra Dal President Rakib Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir, among others, were present.

Later, the leaders and activists of Jubo Dal and Swecchasebak Dal alo brought out processions to protest his remarks and demand his resignation.
