Nahid Islam, coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has called on the public to remain on the streets until a framework for a national government is announced.

He made this statement in an interview with a private TV channel on Monday (5 August) evening.

"Today is a significant day for us. We will persist in our protest until we fulfill the promises made to the people. We need to restructure everything from the constitution to institutional frameworks," he said.

He also urged people nationwide to prevent any opportunity for looting during this period and called for an end to communal violence.

Sargis Alam, another coordinator of the movement, expressed gratitude to the people of Bangladesh for their support in today's events.
