Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday (16 June) called upon all to devote themselves to the welfare of the country and its people, being imbued with the spirit of the sacrifice of Eid-ul-Azha, the second-largest festival of the Muslims to be celebrated on Monday (17 June).
"Dear countrymen, Assalamu Alaikum, the holy Eid-ul-Adha has once again returned to our lives after a year. I wish you all Eid-ul-Adha. Eid Mubarak," she said in a video message to greet the people of the country on the eve of the Eid-ul-Azha.
Sheikh Hasina added, "Taking the lessons of Eid-ul-Azha and being energized by the glory of sacrifice, let us work for the welfare of the country and its people."
At the end of the message, the premier said, "May the holy Eid-ul-Azha bring endless joy, happiness, peace and comfort to our lives. Everyone stay well, stay healthy and stay safe. Eid Mubarak."
