Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained Milton Samaddar, Chairman of Child and Old Age Care, on Wednesday (1 May) from Mirpur in Dhaka.

DMP DB Chief and Additional Commissioner of Police, Harun-Or-Rashid, stated that Milton Samaddar was apprehended in the Mirpur area following a raid.

"Milton Samaddar is now in our custody, and he will be interrogated over several allegations, including issuing fake death certificates, organ trafficking, and child harassment," said Harun.

"We will also quiz him on why he set up an operation theatre without any license and proper authorisation," added Harun.

The recent report published in the national daily Kalbela reveals that Milton is involved in selling organs under the guise of medical treatment. He reportedly picks up sick, helpless, and innocent people from the streets, posing as a humanitarian worker.

On 28 April, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) instructed the DMP to investigate allegations against Milton Samaddar.
