Police have arrested former deputy minister for sports and youths affairs, Arif Khan Joy, in a murder case filed with Mohammadpur police station in the city on Monday (19 August) night.  

Joy, also a former National Football team captain, was arrested from city’s Dhanmondi area, said Obaidur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner of DMP's media and public relations department.

Joy was elected lawmaker for Netrokona-2 constituency in 2014 general elections.  He served as deputy sports minister during the Awami League government's tenure.
