BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep concern over the ongoing incidents of harassment, including the oppression of women.
In a press release issued on Friday, Fakhrul strongly condemned these act and urged the government to take stern action to end harassment against women, establish fair trials, and ensure peace.
Fakhrul said, “Women, including female students and workers, are facing eve-teasing and sexual harassment. Many are being killed after being raped and tortured. The intensity of oppression and harassment had increased during the Awami League's tenure due to a lack of justice. The trend is still continuing.”
He said, “Protecting the honour and dignity of women is not only an ethical duty but also a constitutional right.”
Fakhrul also called on everyone to be more conscious and take responsible actions to address these issues.
