NCP embarks on political journey with tribute to Liberation War martyrs

The newly formed National Citizen Party (NCP) has officially commenced its political journey by paying tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar

Leaders of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) have paid homage at the National Memorial in Savar, formally initiating the party’s political journey through its inaugural programme.

At approximately 8am on Tuesday (4 March), the delegation visited the memorial to honour the valiant martyrs of the Liberation War.

Following the tribute, the party’s convener, Nahid Islam, stated that the NCP would work towards establishing a "Second Republic".

Meanwhile, the party’s member secretary, Akhtar Hossain, expressed hopes of garnering public support.

Later in the morning, at 10am, party leaders and activists are scheduled to hold a prayer gathering at the Rayerbazar Martyred Intellectuals’ Memorial in remembrance of those who perished in the July uprising.

The day’s programme will conclude with an executive committee introductory meeting at the party’s central office at 3pm.
