Law enforcers resorted to baton charges, water cannons, and sound grenades to disperse a group of teachers staging a protest at the Shahbagh intersection. The protesters eventually moved from the intersection to the front of the National Museum, allowing normal traffic flow to resume.

On Monday (10 February) at around 4:30pm, police managed to clear the streets after multiple attempts. During the operation, several female teachers were detained.

Meanwhile, four injured individuals were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The injured are identified as Riaz Uddin (42), a higher secondary teacher; Nazmun Nahar Kona (30), a primary school teacher; Sima Akter (25), a Dhaka University student; and Tanzia (23), a first-year student of Eden College.

Tanzia and Sima claimed they were merely pedestrians. They alleged that while attempting to stop the beating of a woman, police assaulted them.

Masud Alam, Deputy Commissioner of Ramna Division, commented on the situation: "The exact number of detainees cannot be confirmed at this time. We have brought the protesters to the police station. After verification, they will be released. If anyone is formally arrested, it will be disclosed later."

Earlier in the day, teachers registered with the Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) and recommended for recruitment had blocked the Shahbagh intersection. This protest resulted in a complete halt of Shahbagh-bound traffic and triggered a series of chases and counter-chases between the police and protesters.
