All government employees and pensioners will now be entitled to dearness allowance, which will provide additional financial benefits on top of their basic salaries, said the Ministry of Public Administration.
The announcement was made during a press briefing by Ministry of Public Administration Secretary Mokhlesur Rahman at the secretariat on Sunday (15 December).
He outlined the steps being taken to implement the initiative.
According to the senior secretary, a committee has been formed to oversee the process and provide recommendations for the effective implementation of the allowance.
Details regarding the allowance structure and timeline are expected to emerge following the committee’s report.
