Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted a temperature decline across the country over the next five days.
In its latest bulletin on Wednesday (11 December), the BMD stated, "Moderate to thick fog may occur in some areas of the northern and northeastern regions, while light to moderate fog is expected elsewhere during the late night through to morning."
Nighttime temperatures are anticipated to fall by 1–2°C, with a slight dip in daytime temperatures across the country.
On Tuesday, the highest temperature of 30°C was recorded in Cox’s Bazar, while the lowest temperature was noted at 11.7°C in Badalgachhi, located in the Rajshahi district.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining regions has developed into a well-marked low-pressure system now situated over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay.
Its associated trough extends up to the North Bay, while the ridge of a sub-continental high stretches up to Bihar and its adjoining areas.
This weather pattern indicates a likely continuation of cooler temperatures and foggy conditions across the country in the coming days.
