Hasnat Abdullah, the convenor of the anti-discrimination student movement, has stated, "The ambition of using the blood of youth as a stepping stone to power by bowing to Delhi as a qibla is a betrayal of the public's liberation aspirations. History will mark those who pursue the rehabilitation of the Awami League as enemies of the people."

He expressed these views today, Tuesday (19 November) afternoon, in a post on social media platform Facebook.

In the same post, Abdullah further commented, "Those who embody the spirit of the July uprising and reflect the hopes and aspirations of the masses must ensure justice against the Awami League in post-2024 Bangladesh. There can be no second position or alternative stance on the Awami League within the political arena."

Earlier, on Monday, Youth and Sports Ministry Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan remarked, "When we, as representatives of the government, discuss the prohibition of the Awami League, certain political parties attempt to obstruct this discourse with their speeches. If Germany's fascist Nazi Party was banned in 1945 and remains banned, this should serve as a precedent for determining the fate of the Awami League."

Asif Mahmud made these remarks during a discussion titled "Public Uprising through the Eyes of the New Generation and the Future of Bangladesh", held at Jahangirnagar University’s Mukta Mancha at 10:30pm on Tuesday.
