The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a warning, announcing that legal action will be taken against individuals filing false and harassing lawsuits. The notice, released today, is intended to raise awareness about the increasing misuse of legal procedures.

According to the ministry's notice, "Recently, there has been a rise in the filing of false cases, including murder charges, with the intent to extort, blackmail, and harass individuals. Filing such baseless lawsuits is a criminal offense under Bangladesh's current legal framework."

The notice also clarified that law enforcement agencies have already been directed to take strict action against those involved in such malicious activities. The ministry emphasized that those engaging in these unlawful acts have been issued a stern warning.

In the advisory, the public was encouraged to report such incidents to the national emergency service ‘999’ and notify law enforcement agencies to assist in taking necessary actions against the perpetrators.
