The local administration of Rangamati district has newly discouraged tourists from traveling to Sajek for three more days starting from 25 September 25 to 27 September.

On Saturday, Additional District Magistrate Zobaida Akter issued a notice in this regard.

Considering the overall situation in the hill district, the local administration extended the travel ban for three more days, said the notice.

The Pahari Chhatra Janata enforced 72-hour strike over the unwanted situation in Khagrachhari, Dighinala and Rangmati.

Consequently, some 1500 tourists and 500 drivers and staff got stranded in Sajek under Baghaichari upazila.

A 75 percent discount was offered for the tourists by the resort and cottage owners.

Besides, the strike drove the tourists into sufferings from water, gas and food crises.
