Brazil emerged victorious in the CONMEBOL U-20 Football Championship, clinching the title with a decisive 3-0 win over Chile.

The result placed immense pressure on Argentina, which needed a formidable victory over Paraguay to remain in contention.

However, a dramatic 2-3 defeat shattered their hopes, confirming Brazil as the undisputed champions.

After securing their win against Chile, the Brazilian squad turned their attention to Argentina’s match against Paraguay.

To claim the championship, Argentina required a four-goal margin of victory, but Diego León’s early strike for Paraguay complicated matters further, demanding an even steeper five-goal deficit for Argentina to overturn.

A decisive blow came in the 82nd minute when Argentina conceded yet another goal, extinguishing their title aspirations entirely.

Brazil’s dominance was further underscored by their emphatic performance against Chile.

The match took a pivotal turn between the 73rd and 88th minutes, when David Washington, Pedro, and Ricardo Mathias each found the net, securing a commanding triumph for the Seleção’s youth squad.

Unlike traditional tournaments, the CONMEBOL U-20 Championship follows a league format, with no semi-finals or finals. Brazil’s consistency throughout the competition saw them finish atop the table with 13 points—sufficient to claim the crown—while Argentina, despite a spirited campaign, fell short with 10 points.

The tournament thus concluded with Brazil lifting the trophy, while Argentina, having begun their journey with a crushing 6-0 defeat, ultimately ended it without silverware.
