National Citizen Party’s Chief Organiser (North), Sarjis Alam, on Monday called on the people to vote for candidates who fulfill their commitments in the upcoming election.
Speaking at a rally at Bijoy Ekattor Chattor in Debiganj, Panchagarh, he urged voters to choose leaders based on their actions rather than party affiliations or election symbols.
“Don’t vote just for a party or a symbol. Vote for those who keep their promises and work for the people. If everyone works selflessly, the country will progress,” he said.
Sarjis pledged that his party would resist oppression, extortion, and syndicates that exist in the country’s system. He criticized political leaders for exploiting the public for years.
He also advised voters to reject monetary offers from candidates, stating, “Those who buy votes will not work for the people.”
Earlier in the day, Sarjis arrived at Saidpur Airport in Nilphamari before traveling to Debiganj in a motorcade of over 100 vehicles. He is scheduled to attend an Iftar event at his village in Atwari upazila later in the evening.
