BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that an evil attempt is underway to make the Bangladesh Army controversial. He made these remarks on Monday (24 March) at an iftar party organized by the BNP Media Cell.
“An evil attempt is going on to discredit our patriotic army, which has stood by the nation during all crucial moment of the nation. Such efforts jeopardize Bangladesh's sovereignty and security, making the country unstable once again," said Fakhrul.
He further added, "Today, a new conspiracy is being orchestrated skillfully to destabilize the country and endanger its independence. Institutions that play a crucial role in protecting Bangladesh's sovereignty, particularly the Army, are being targeted and made controversial. This cannot have a noble purpose. The only objective is to repeat the past actions of fascist regimes that endangered the nation’s sovereignty."
