State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat has said that any sabotage in the name of protests will be dealt with an iron hand by law enforcement agencies.

He made this announcement on Sunday (4 August) while speaking to journalists in front of the Parliament House.

The state minister said, "We do not want conflict. If there is an attempt to create unrest, it will be dealt with firmly. In reality, the protesters did not have any demand related to quotas; their main intentions were revealed yesterday. The protesters have now joined the ranks of BNP-Jamaat.

"If the violence does not stop, we will tackle it politically. The Prime Minister has urged the public to come forward to stop the violence," he added.
