On Sunday morning (23 June), tourist spots in Goainghat Upazila of Sylhet were reopened to the public. Later in the afternoon, Sadapathar in Companiganj Upazila and Lalakhal in Jaflong Upazila were also made accessible to tourists.

Following improvements in flood conditions, various tourist spots across Sylhet have started reopening.

On Sunday morning (23 June), tourist spots in Goainghat Upazila of Sylhet were reopened to the public. Later in the afternoon, Sadapathar in Companiganj Upazila and Lalakhal in Jaflong Upazila were also made accessible to tourists.

The decision to reopen these spots was confirmed by Sanjit Kumar Chand, UNO of Companiganj Upazila, and Umme Salik Rumaiya, UNO of Jaflong.

During the current monsoon season, tourist spots in Sylhet have been closed twice due to worsen flood situation. Initially, all tourist spots in Sylhet were closed on 30 May.

Subsequently, they were reopened on 7 June as the flood situation improved. However, they were closed again from 18 June due to a deterioration in flood condition.
